Michael Wollny Trio on NOYS VR
NOYS VR Concerts November 29th Update
After an exciting year and lots of growth for the NOYS platform, we're here to talk music and give you a sneak peek at some of the freshest content that we'll be releasing soon. So what's there to be excited about, you ask? Three new concerts, that's what!
Our team has been working hard to bring you lots of new concerts and make the experience of enjoying live shows in a virtual reality environment that much more exhilarating. That being said, let's lift the veil and dive right in.
Elbjazz VR 2.0
Let's start with something we're all familiar with - last year's Elbjazz festival VR debut was a huge success on our platform. And this year, we would like to build on top of that success by releasing an entirely updated and improved experience.
In fact, the great virtual audience turnout of the previous release (numbering over 5,000 strong) even impressed the organizers of Elbjazz and the main project sponsor, Hamburger Volksbank. This allowed us to garner extensive support for our V2.0 release from the festival's co-founder Nina Sauer and Dr. Reiner Brüggestrat, the pro-VR chairman of Hamburger Volksbank. Their support proved absolutely quintessential in putting together this update.
Introducing the Michael Wollny Trio
One of the most exciting additions to this year's update is the Michael Wollny Trio. We are very grateful to ACT Music for providing us with the necessary rights to pull this off and to Yamaha Music Europe for providing us with the equipment and their brand new showroom to record this mesmerizing performance. This talented trio is comprised of Michael Wollny on the piano, Eric Schaefer on drums, and Christian Weber playing the bass. This year we're thrilled to be able to include them in the update, which features their 25-minute set, including the pieces "Big Louise," "Phlegma Phighter," "DerWanderer," and "Gravite."
Dusk at the Shipyard
For the new release, we decided to keep the familiar shipyard venue that was featured in last year's edition. The venue is based on the Blohm+Voss compound, featuring virtual lifts and other environmental additions that allow you to view the concert from new angles and heights.
Meet The Prominent Guests
While November 29th is still a little while out, we've released a sneak peek of the new experience during the Elbjazz Festival. With over 500 on-site attendees, we hosted some prominent guests, including the Michael Wollny Trio themselves, along with Nils Landgren. The artists jumped in for a VR session with us to experience their performances from the audience's perspective in a virtual environment for the first time. The feedback we got from the artists was overwhelmingly positive, and we're already looking forward to future releases, as we've got some very exciting things in the works!
See You Soon, Virtually!
So by now, you're probably just as excited for the upcoming release as we are, right? The team is thrilled to have collaborated with such wonderful artists, and all of us are hoping to see you online during the release.
Can't wait? Stay tuned for a teaser coming out this Friday, which you can find on our social media channels.
